Author, Publisher or Host School of this Visit? Liaise with Book Supplier

A workshop with Beano artits & Julius Zebra creator, Gary Northfield!

This creative master class starts with a theatrical ice breaking performance from Gary, before the first easy warm up challenge is introduced – draw Julius Zebra!

With a captivated and focused audience, Gary sets a series of mini writing tasks, all timed, and all featuring creative and grammatical targets. The fast pace and themed targets create an enthusiastic momentum amongst eager and inspired pupils.

The writing tasks are broken up with picture drawing activities where pupils enjoy learning professional cartoonist techniques as well as seeing how much impact and context can be achieved when illustrations are accompanied by prose.

Gary’s energised presence retains the pupils’ focus throughout which always sees him fired a barrage of questions about illustrating and creative writing, all of which he’s always happy to answer in the most inspirational of ways.

Engage your school’s young budding cartoonists and writers with this entertaining and highly informative literacy learning experience.

Shipping Policy

All pre-ordered Books purchased for School Visits, sold via authors2schools.com, are sent to the pupil's school as a single school order by the Book Supplier partner of your event. This is usually a local branch of Waterstones or your local independent book store, wherever possible.

Books will not and can not be shipped to your personal billing or shipping address- only to the school or institution hosting the event.

Refund Policy

Refunds are at the sole discretion of the Book Supplier partner of your event. Their contact details are available from the event listing page. All refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Cancellation / Return / Exchange Policy

Due to the nature of pre-ordered book stock for school visits, often before the official publication date, and the fact that all copies will be personally signed (ie marked) by the Author, Book Supplier partners are usually unable to accept returns or exchanges.

All stock is brand new and from the wholesale agent which is later supplied & checked for quality/damage by a professional bookseller up until the point of signing.

Any cancelled customer orders must be requested within 10 working days of the date of the School Visit to qualify, for the reasons outlined above.
